The Guardian Building
An aerial view of the Guardian Building in Downtown Detroit.
Built in 1928, the guardian building has been a must see of Detroit, Michigan.
Ambassador Bridge
Michigan is known for building the longest suspension bridge twice. First the Ambassador Bridge and then the Mackinac Bridge. The bridge is unusual because the section of the bridge between the anchorages and the main towers are not suspended. The main cables run directly down and into the concrete anchorages for the bridge. This section is instead supported by a system of deck truss spans.
The Westin Book-Cadillac
Located facing Washington Blvd. which was once considered the "Fifth Avenue of the Midwest." It was built in 1924 and owned by the Book brothers. When it opened it was the tallest building in Detroit and the tallest hotel.
